Expectations Obama Face (Jorge Rodríguez-Gerada)

 

LPE contributed creative, production and publicity support to the creation of the world’s largest ephemeral sand painting (2.5 acres) in the likeness of Barack Obama. The Expectation Project was created and developed by artist Jorge Rodríguez-Gerada and architect Alex Giménez near the beaches of Barcelona. Over 500 tons of sand and gravel was needed to complete this project as well as the support of several local construction related companies and 100s of volunteers. This project received worldwide television, newsprint and internet coverage.

“Expectations” was featured on the front page of CNN international as well as repeated CNN aired coverage – the Associated Press, Reuters and the New York Times also disseminated the story.
